#4661 Winchester 1887 Lever-Action Shotgun, 10ga x 32"; barrel
Description:
#4661 Winchester 1887 Lever-Action Shotgun, 10ga x 32"; barrel,
32XXX serial range, 1891 manufacture. Better-than-average bore, at least a 7 on a scale of 10, fine smooth metal with a thin grey-brown patina, VG wood with only one serious deficit and that being the 1-inch size gouge on the right front of the forearm slab that hopefully can be seen in the photos; otherwise just the usual light bumps and bruises, VG markings. These big shoulder cannons are
always an impressive shotgun at almost any kind of modern day shotgun shoot
because, while being butt-ugly, these old lever actions were very reliable. Unfortunately for Winchester, they were short-lived when the easier to use slide actions finally became reliable and available in great numbers. VG/VG+ as described. $1250
