Description:
#4984 Colt S/A, 4-3/4”x45COLT, 141XXX range(1891), VG bore, about a 7 on a scale of 10 with just minor lead build-up and minor wear, no bad spots. Fine tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer, crisp lock-up. The smooth metal is very fine with no appreciable pitting, very good markings except for the proper two-line address which is weak, and retains 90% coverage of a very old period renickel and non-factory style punch
and squiggle line type engraving. Very colorful old two-piece grips that are obvious mismatches, but still have an overall very handsome appearance. A very, VERY decent and very showy little short-barreled Colt that probably was very possibly done-up and then highly coveted by some young dandy who was sporting it in the local town saloon. There are lots of pictures of this neat old Colt, so if they all do not load up, be sure to e-mail me and I’ll forward them along to you. VG++ $3450
