#4991 Colt 1892 D/A 6”x41COLT, 13XXX serial range (about 1892 mfgr)
Description:
#4991 Colt 1892 D/A 6”x41COLT, 13XXX serial range (about 1892 manufacture) but having had a factory barrel upgrade with the 1905 patent date done at some early point in its 120 year life. There’s little or no way to know WHY the barrel was swapped out, could have been to get a longer barrel or perhaps a better bore (as this one is a “9” on a scale of 10), but it “is what it is” and it still is a good example of an early “swing-out” cylinder Colt. Metal is smooth with some bumps and scratches and traces of blue and the grips show considerable wear, but are decent and do have the “1892” date. VG. $825
