44 caliber "Carlist" revolver from Spain 1850
Description: Own a piece of Spanish history here. A nice, complete 44 Carlist revolver; often listed as a "44 caliber Lefechaux or Spike" made by Ramon Gaviola of the Eibar region of Spain in between 1850 and 1860. Most likely used in the Carlist War of 1874 (hence the name "Carlist revolver" attributed to these revolvers. While the gun itself is interesting piece of machinery with it's fold-up/down trigger and locking loading gate (both of which still function 100% to this day as does everything else on this item), the cylinder on these rotate CLOCKWISE when viewed from the perspective of the shooter. There is nice engraving still in good condition on both the cylinder and top of the frame. Gun has a nice patina finish now, with no rust showing. Bore is in good condition as well, but I'd not even attempt to fire this without first doing some maintenance on the gun as the bore of the barrel is no longer aligned with the cylinder. The sizable gap between the barrel/frame and cylinder is shown in one of the pictures. The original wood grips are in great condition with no chips or breaks. Weapon appears to be 100% original in all aspects and would make a great display item certainly. Not interested in trades, item is on consignment here and subject to sale locally as well. No FFL required for this piece of history. $25 shipping via USPS Insured Priority Mail. I gleefully accept all credit cards without any additional monkey business fees as well as Money Orders and Cashiers Checks. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes |
