Antique Colt SAA. Rough But Cheap. Factory Letter And Display Case.
Description:
SOLD... Rough near relic but cheap original Colt SAA. Here is the third revolver I am selling for a friend. It is a rough and near relic Colt SA. 44-40 caliber and the 7 ½" barrel and was made in 1881... Comes with a laminated factory letter and a nice padded display case. Gun is pitted over all as you can see. Do not know if it is a dug up that has been cleaned or just rougher than a cob. Hammer still has the safety notch, half cock and full cock notches that all hold... It does rotate on the hammer pull but does not quite index completely and lock up is loose.. Bolt spring broken or weak and the hand is worn. In NO WAY am I suggesting you can replace these parts and go out shooting !!!! The very tip of the firing pin has been broken off. This was probably done on purpose so some fool would not load this thing up and attempt to shoot it. The grips are not correct for the time period of the gun and are rough and cracked with some very old brass tacks in the left grip..They are original Colt grips though for all it is worth. The ejector housing is from another gun as it does not have the deep pitting as the rest of the gun but it is and original Colt housing. The rod is original Colt and the head looks like a old home made replacement. The S/N match on the frame, trigger guard and the back strap but I can see no number on the bottom of the barrel under the ejector housing or the cylinder. It is pretty obvious that they are the original barrel and cylinder. The barrel address is pitted over and not visible. The 3 line PAT dates on the frame are visible. The bore and chambers are as rough as the out side. All the screws can be turned and are not frozen. This ole thumb buster needs to R.I.P. in the display case. It has served it’s duty. It would display well stuffed down in an old holster also. Would absolutely look better in it than out of it !!! It is what it is and I would have to say is all original but the ejector housing and the grips.. Gun is being sold as a DISPLAY ONLY item so please do not call or e-mail with stupid questions like “ Can this gun be fired ” or ” Can this gun be repaired to fire”. etc... I think this about covers everything that any one could possibly want to know BUT if you are bound and determined to know more about this thing HA HA,, I guess you can give me a call 765-728-8049 or e-mail with questions. $35 insured shipping.
