Browning Superposed Shotgun
Description:
Both the stock and forearm are Diana Grade wood. This is the original forearm to Diana grade #15XXX S69, most likely a salt wood gun. The forearm is cracked near the breach end, but this occurred during a gun repair. There is a chip hole at the muzzle end nest to the bolt hole. Price: $250.00 plus shipping.
The stock is trap style, narrow upper/short lower tang. Although a Browning stock, this is not the original. Seller purchased the Diana gun new in 1970, shot 500 rounds and the stock cracked at the wrist. Seller sent the gun back to Browning and Browning replaced, at no charge to Seller, the stock. Seller shot 500 rounds through the gun and the stock cracked again at the wrist. Seller returned the gun to Browning. Browning, again replaced, at no charge to Seller, the stock. This time Seller requested Browning to shorten LOP to 12 3/4" without recoil pad. Shotgun fired about 85,000 rounds with this stock. Note the oval space near the toe. This is for an oval name plate. Seller removed the name plate and used it on the replacement stock. Stock also has a recoil reducer. Make not known. Price: $2,500.00 plus shipping.
Recoil pad fits the stock. Price: $150.00 plus shipping.
