"SALE PENDING" --- Colt 1st Gen. SAA Revolver and holster - Cal. .45 - 4 3/4" Bbl. - SN 168XXX(1897) all matching numbers - Excellent bore is bright and shiny with crisp rifling and only a very few areas of minor roughness in part of the grooves. Action is excellent with perfect timing and lock-up - 4 clicks - slight wear at safety notch. Metal is about excellent overall but shows some very light pitting on the left side of the barrel and some minor dings on the bottom right sude of the barrel - very light surface pitting in some of the cylinder grooves - sharp markings and address. Barrel, cylinder, and backstrap retain about 70% - 75% thinning blue - case colors have drifted to a dark mottled gray patina. Grips are undamaged, but show moderate wear from normal handling. Holster is late 1880s or 1890s vintage and is unmarked and has definately been with this Colt for a long time - stitching is all intact and holster is undamaged except for some very fine srface cuts on the back. A very nice and near Fine early smokeless powder Colt SAA and holster rig that will make a nice addition to a Colt or early West collection.
