Lyell Esquire and delivered on July 14th, 1920, 25" Extractor shoe lump barrels, 1/4 rib & 1 standing & 2 folding rear sights, Bushed strikers, Double triggers, Proved at 75 Cordite with a 480 grain bullet, No cheekpiece, Sling eyes, 14 5/8" LOP over a 7/8" Silvers pad, The proper and correct 475 weight of 10 lbs. 15 oz., No engraving, Very nice wood with nice color & contrast that remains very solid and stout, It has a total and complete refinish that is very well done and includes a recolor hardened frame, The gun remains in 95% condition since the refinish, The bores are excellent, This is a very solid double rifle that has a bunch of its mechanical life left. This rifle performs well with 89 grains of Reloader 15, 4 grains of dacron filler, Federal 215 primers and using .483" Woodleigh softs or solids and it is accurate. The 475 3 1/4" N. E. will do everything a 470 or 465 Nitro does as it is a 75 cordite equivalent cartridge with a 480 grain bullet. This is basic English that functions well and will carry the full load in Africa for both Buffalo and Elephant./////////////////////////// When Mr. G. D. Lyell left the premise at 168 Piccadilly in London in 1920 he was short 52 pounds sterling & 10 shillings for Cogswell & Harrison #47805.
