COLT 1883 HAMMERLESS DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN
Description: Model 1883 Colt, grade two 12 gauge shotgun with 32 inch damascus barrels, choked M and M, with an unusual round pistol grip. This gun is in very fine condition with 10 to 15 percent fading case colors and some minor dings to the wood, present in so many of these old Colts that I have seen. There is a very small chip out of the toe of the stock and the toe of the butt plate. L o P is 14 3/16" and drop is 2 15/16" at the heel and 1 3/4" at the comb, typical of American shotguns ot this period. The engraving, checkering and damascus pattern are all near perfect. The bores are excellent and the gun locks up tightly. The factory letter states that it was furnished with a flat matte rib, 32 inch barrels and was shipped January 12, 1900 to Simmons Hardware, Saint Louis, Missouri. The weight is listed as 8 pounds, 5 ounces. Ducks beware. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
