COLT BREVETE MODEL 1851 NAVY REVOLVER BY CLEMENT, CIRCA 1860's. Serial number "104,XXX". .36 caliber marked "35 calibre" on left triggerguard. 7 1/2" octagonal barrel with one line "CAP SYSTEM MANUFACTURED BY C. CLEMENT" on top of barrel only faintly visible. Beside Belgian proofmarks on barrel, frame and cyinlder there are no other marks. Matching serial numbers stamped on barrel and frame. Cylinder had "New System No. 163" stamped on it without scene but "crown/N" and Liege in circle stamp. Original wanlut grips worn but original to gun. Large wedge probably one of the genuine Colt import parts or later replacement. Loading lever catch maybe period replacement as well. Nice old even patina overall. Triggerguard with traces of original nickel or tin plating. Working order.
