COLT MODEL 1877 "LIGHTNING" DA REVOLVER - 2 1/2" BBL
Description:
Colt Model 1877 "Lightning" DA Revolver - Cal. 38 - 2 1/2" bbl. - SN 64XXX(1888) - all matching numbers.. Bore is absolutely spotless - bright with sharp rifling - action is excellent with perfect timing and lock-up in both DA and SA. Metal is excellent with no rust, pits, or corrosion.. Barrel retains 95% ++ deep blue with crisp barrel address - etching on left side of barrel "COLT DA .38 CAL." is extremely faint, but visible - cylinder has about 98% blue - frame has sharp markings and retains about 40% case colors - some bright - some fading. Pearl grips are vintage period, but not original to revolver - very good fit to frame and left grip shows a minor surface repair - otherwise grips are undamaged and show no wear at all.. This early "Lightning" is all original, except for grips and in Excellent or better condition with the very desirable 2 1/2" barrel which some called the "storkeeper" or "Sheriffs" Model. Very hard to find with this much condition and will make a nice addition an early Colt or Old West collection.
