Description: CONFEDERATE T. J. ADAMS RICHMOND CONVERSION PERC. MODEL 1836 PISTOL CIRCA 1861-2. A Johnson U.S. Model 1836 pistol converted by the Adams firm of Richmond on contract with the State of Virginia. Virginia had almost 60,000 flintlock obsolete arms of various types in storage at the Richmond Arsenal at the beginning of the War. They were all converted in the first two years by various firm with Adams the largest contractor. Typical and with Adams distinctive percussion bolster. Ramrod assembly removed as appears quite often on these pistols. Very good and with the original metal and stock finish. Lock in working order.
