Canadian No. 4 Mk. I* Rifle by Long Branch
Description: Serial #22L3564, .303 British, 25? barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This Canadian-made, 1942 dated rifle has retained about 95-97% of the original matte blue finish that has faded slightly on the exposed projections and high points as well as on the bearing surfaces and handle of the matching numbered bolt. A Canadian ?C (Broad Arrow)? property stamp is present on the receiver and there is a small and unobtrusive import mark on the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The rifle has post-war wood with large ?C (Broad Arrow)? stamp on the right side of the buttstock and stylized maple leaf stamp of technical services on the underside of the forend just behind the nosecap. A matching condition magazine (numbered to a different gun), and khaki canvassling are included and a stamped Mk. III rear sight is installed. This is a fine example of a Canadian No. 4 rifle and would make a nice addition to a collection. {Ref.
