Cased Pair of Saw Handle Duelers by Holmes of Liverpool. Very fine pair of top quality duelers. Pistols have gold breech bands, engraved tang and barrel. Trigger guard and finial are engraved and the lock as well. Bore are .56 caliber and are mirror bright. Smooth bores. Barrels are 9” and overall length is 15”. Pistols have sliding safeties and roller frizzens. Barrels have good plus to very good finish with one showing more use than the other. This is often found when the owner chose to shoot or practice with one of the pistols. The rear tip of the saw handle on one gun has an excellent old repair that does not detract from the pistol Checkering is excellent. The case is very good and has a lifting handle and swing latches with eyes. Flask is a two compartment type with extra flints. Case has a two piece cleaning rod and a turnscrew. There is an oiler and horn cylinder with screw-off top. The lining, we think was probably redone in the 1920’s or 30’s judging by the cloth. A handsome dueling set.
