A World War I era manufactured in 1918. Just imagine all struggles America has faced with the Colt 1911.
Blue condition is fading with no rust or pitting, but showing some patina. Magazine is original with lanyard loop. Colt 1911 U.S. Army .45acp military automatic pistol with very good original diamond-checkered walnut stocks. With “JMG” inspectors mark. All original components, no modifications. Bore shows strong crisp rifling and is shinny bright throughout!
The receiver of the 1911 is marked on the left side. "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" On the right side it is marked with the serial number. "No 300111". The right side the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911. U.S.ARMY" The left side the slide is marked. "PATENTED APR. 20,1897. SEPT.9,1902 DEC.19,1905 AUG.19,1913" "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A.
Removing the US Property stamp was common with early military firearms. Before the government declared them "obsolete" it was illegal to own a US Property marked firearm. It is nice to have this example with all original marks. The Doug Fowler holster is included.
