Colt First Generation .45 Single Action Army Black Powder Frame 4 3/4 Inch Barrel 1st
Description:
Guns by Sally-always the best for less. We are way proud to offer this fine example of Colt's model of 1873. This one was made in the year of our Lord 1883. This is the coveted black powder frame era, with a screw retaining the base pin. She also has the gunfighter 4 3/4 inch barrel. The caliber, .45 Long Colt, is correctly placed on the front trigger bow. The top of the barrel has the 2 line address. The left side of the frame bears the finely stamped patent dates, and this era did not have the prancing Colt. The hammer slot bears the J inspector mark, which I have only seen in other guns in this range. The hammer has the early knurling with border. The 4 click action works as it should, including the half cock loading position. All serial numbers match, and the base pin is the early type with a hole in each end. There is a bit of looseness in the cylinder lockup, and the bore is worn, but rifling is distinct. The grips, scratch numbered to the gun, are in good condition with some wear to the checkering. These black powder frame Colts are a sound investment, with values ever increasing. If you are looking for the right Single Action Army to collect or for investment, and want the added clout of a black powder frame, 4 3/4 inch barrel, and .45 caliber, then look no further.
