Colt Model of 1877 (Lightning) .38LC, 4.5" barrel with ejector, matching serial #’s including penciled inside of the grips. A Colt letter of authentication, indicating that the gun was delivered in 1903, is included in the sale.
This Lightning has exceptional; fire blue screws, case hardening colors, a shiny bright bore and barrel lettering with Hartford CT address.
The only detraction is very slight holster rub at the muzzle, a slight brown patina about the size of ½ of a dime where the barrel meets the frame and minor cylinder turn marks, (please see sloseup photos) otherwise this Lightning is museum quality and appears not to have been fired. This gun will fit nicely in the most discriminating collector’s collection.
The gun will need to be shipped to an FFL licensed dealer unless the buyer holds a Curio Relic license. If the buyer holds a C/R licenses, a copy must be provided to the seller prior to shipment. Shipping charge is dependent on ship to location. The gun sale comes with a 3 day inspection period.
