SN 273949 built in 1906. This .41 cal. Colt shows a bright very good bore with strong rifling and just light frosting. The barrel and extractor show approx 50% original blue with holster wear on the left side and on the extractor housing; the barrel and caliber markings are clear. For reference see Kopec, Chaper 7. The frame shows trace color in the protected areas; the straps and guard show overall bright grey finish. This piece is a Single Action from the famous working era of the American West. 133,000 Single Actions were sold by Colt from 1900 to 1912, 29% of the production were 5 1/2" barreled pieces. This piece is all matching. The cylinder shows 50% original blue with small pitting on one cylinder flute; the grips appear correct but are not marked. This .41 colt is a very good example of a working gun. This piece was sourced in Alberta and is import marked on the underside of the barrel. An excellent example of a mechanically sound SA.
