Seller's Inventory #: AL3415
Dutch Model 1854 Marechausee carbine. Scarce. The Marechausee were a cavalry unit organized to act as a constabulary or military police force. The gun uses a saddle bar and ring. The hammer is unusual as it has a ring, knurled on the inside. One would cock it with and index finger and was actually a positive way of cocking the gun without slipping off the usual spur hammer. The stock has the cartouche of William III who ruled from 1848 to 1890. Gun is in very good condition with the stock having many nicks and old dents. No chips or cracks.
