Early 1905 Bayonet In Second Type Scabbard 1912 Date
Description:
This 1912 dated bayonet features a bright blade, thin groove (early style) wood grips and M 1905 leather covered scabbard.
Blade shows scattered light stains and still has unsharpened factory edge.
Ricasso shows a small blued area, guard and pommel have browned with strong traces of blue under the patina.
left grip is stamped '8" , both sides show light wear.
The second type scabbard was built from 1906 to 1901.
this one is marked "R1A 1909" on back with "T.C." inspector marks.
Seam remains tight and leather shows wear with light scuffing.
Throat shows 40% blue under staining and patina.
An excellent example in original condition , most were later fully blued and cut down in WWII.
