Fine Special Order Winchester Model 1894 Button Mag 38-55
Carbine
Description:
Often referred to as an Eastern Carbine, this rifle was mfg. without a saddle ring, a Winchester logo shot gun rubber butt plate, half or button style magazine and the small flutes at comb of rear stock. It is chambered for the most valuable of all 94 carbine rounds, the 38-55 Winchester. The barrel is a standard 20" round The sights are the standard carbine sights issued on all of the carbines during this era, the ladder rear and small post front. As to condition, the barrel retains nearly all of the somewhat thinning blue original finish. The receiver is a mix of gun metal and patina. Stocks are excellent, proud to the metal and have never been sanded nor are than any cracks. Bore is really fine with pronounced crisp lands and grooves have no pitting of any kind. Of course, gun functions fine as it should with no binding. Gun was mfg in 1919
