Fox Sterlingworth 20 Gauge SxS Shotgun
Description: Fox Sterlingworth 20 Gauge SxS Shotgun EJECTORS, 98% CASE COLOR, CONDITION! General Specs: A.H. Fox, Year 1920, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 2oz, Side by Side Serial Number: 255492 Most will agree the Fox Sterlingworth 20ga. is the best value for a fine small gauge vintage American double in today's marketplace bate. Built on a tiny 20ga. frame, therefore lighter than like guns from Parker, L.C. Smith, or Ithaca, dynamically balanced the Sterlingworth is still an affordable field and clays gun with the handling and shooting characteristics of a much more expensive gun. The American double gun world loves the Fox shotgun. Just try and find a decent 20ga. ejector gun in any grade. There are few offered for sale, and for good reason. The A.H. Fox 20 bore has been described as the “most perfectly proportioned 20ga.” boxlock ever made and it likely is true. I have a treasure here, a 1920 Sterlingworth, sn255492, that has over 98% factory case color, 97% factory blue, EJECTORS (rare in Sterlingworth), 28" #3 weight barrels, mirror bores, great wood with factory butt plate. Weighing 6lbs. and perfectly balanced, it is a delightful little bird gun that will appeal to both the collector and the upland hunter. High condition, original guns are becoming near impossible to find and will continue to grow in value as fewer and fewer are available to purchase. A great investment opportunity. Barrels Barrel Length: 28" #3wt Chokes: .015/.032 Bores: mirror Bore Diameter: .619/.620 Wall Thickness: .028/.025 % Blue: 97% Chambers: 2.5" Ribs: tight Sights: single Action Action: tight, way right of center Ejectors or Extractors: ejectors, strong, timed Case Color: 98% Screws: excellent Engraving: sharp Trigger Type: double, crisp Trigger Guard Color: 97% Stock Type: capped pistol grip/splinter forend LOP: 14" LOP To End Of Wood: 13 3/4" DAH: 3 1/8" DAC: 1 3/4" Cast: 1/8" on Checkering Condition: excellent Butt Treatment: factory plate Other There are more photos upon request.
