JEFFEREY ENGRAVED SINGLE SQUARE BRIDGE ACTION - EXCELLENT BORE - Very Nice Rifle - Very Nice Wood - 26" Barrel - Original Lyman Receiver Sight - Classic Stock - Overall 92% - 13 5/8" LOP - 9 Lbs. 8 Oz. //////////////////////// #1525, No. 1525 Griffin & Howe, Inc. New York: A Classic Pre-War Griffin & Howe in 375 H&H Magnum Made about 1937 on a #18 Magnum Mauser Single Square Bridge Action that carries the Mauser #56161, The action was built in 1912 by Mauser, A Classic 26" barrel complete with a barrel band sling eye, Band front ramp that is matted with the G&H sight protector, Original Lyman receiver peep sight with the square bridge cut to accept the slide, The #18 Magnum action with an engraved receiver ring by Jeffery, Drilled & tapped with 2 screws on the receiver ring, Belly magazine with a straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release, The floorplate & trigger guard has 90% coverage of floral engraving by Jeffery, Jeweled bolt body & follower, Four panel teardrop bolt knob checkering with engraving, Very nice wood with deep black & brown color with excellent contrast, A Griffin & Howe Classic & Typical sporting stock with a shadowline cheekpiece, Complete wrap around point pattern checkering panels on both the grip and forend, Horn forend tip, Steel engraved grip cap, Rear sling eye, Cross bolt at the recoil lug, 13 5/8" LOP over a 1" Hawkins pad, 9 lbs. 8 oz., The original blue remains at 90%, The stock with the original finish remains at 92%, The checkering is at 98%, The bore is excellent plus. This gun is classic Pre-War Griffin & Howe and certainly classic Mauser. This is one flat nice rifle.
