Griffin & Howe Springfield .30-06 Kornbrath Engraved. This rifle was built 1926-27 and engraved by Rudolph J kornbrath. The floor plate has 85% coverage of tight scroll with the name Dr. H.C. Harper in gold inlay. The engraving continues onto the triggerguard and is sharp with 80% coverage. The bottom screws are engraved in a fancy pattern with the work continuing onto the barrel and the trap style butt plate. The action has a bordered panel on the forward ring, action blue is 90% with some wear at the edges, 2 panel bolt knob, very good trigger. There is a Lyman 48 mounted at the rear, a Noske sidemount with blind screws, and a Ziess Zeilviermi fixed power scope that is clear with strong blue on all. The barrel is 22" with a banded rear sight, 2 folded, and stippled on top to cut down on glare. The forward sight is a barrel band style with a hood, a small brass bead, and border engraving around the base, bore quality is 85% with some frosting ahead of the chamber. The stock is Griffin quality wood with a horn fore end cap and grip cap, strong chequering and 855 original oil finish. The lop is 13 3/4" to a trap butt plate. 9lbs 2oz.
