High Condition Smith & Wesson 2nd Model American
Description:
One of the first big bore center fire revolvers to see the Western expansion, this is a fine example of the 2nd Model S&W American. It is standard in all respects including the nickel plated trigger guard which was standard prior to serial number 25K range. This example is in beautiful condition retains at least 95% of its original factory finish. No pitting, freckling nor flaking of finish, just some very minor high edge wear near hinge and muzzle . Excellent grips. Nice sharp bore with some frosting. One of the nicest examples of this model that we have seen in some time. Barrel is 8" and all factory stampings are like new. This gun was mfg between 1872-74 with a total of about 20,000 guns, most of which saw hard service on the frontier. Antique so can be shipped anywhere.
