Holland & Holland Royal Ejector all original damascus cased
Description: Holland and Holland Royal sidelock ejector 12ga. An absolutely stunning circa 1891 Royal in pristine condition cased in original oak and leather case with a full compliment of accessories. Original Holland & Holland labels in the original to the gun case. Original thirty inch nitro proved damascus barrels with original 2 1/2 chambers. Bore diameters of 739 and 743 and minimum wall thickness of 23 and 21 thousandth choked skeet and cylinder. Clean bores and the browning throughout is beautiful. Timed ejectors. Classic, patented best back action locks (gold washed internals) with crisp and delicate bouquet and scroll engraving. Retaining 20% case colors, more in protected areas, a wonderful patina only a century of time can create. The furniture blacking is excellent and well maintained. Arguably one of the most finely figured stocks you will find on any gun of this era. Honey and smoke fiddleback english walnut to a checkered butt. Good checkering with minimal wear with a small dent or two. LOP is 14 5/8, at comb 1 1/2 at heel 2 1/4, 1/4 slight cast off for the a right handed shooter. Oak and Leather case is solid and free from cracks or gouges, complimented with ebony cleaning rods complete with jags and mops as supplied by the maker. Oil bottle, grease pot and snap caps all also marked Holland Royal. While uncertain of any provenance, whomever this gun was bespoken for had great taste. It's caretakers, myself included, have lovingly treated this gun like the lady she is. Pre 1898 gun, so I can ship to your front door.
