Description:
A WWI conversion to alter the 1870-15 for the clip loaded 6.5 MM Carcano cartridge. The left barrel breech is dated 1883 under "Brescia" in an oval. The rear sight is graduated to 2000 meters. Use extreme caution with this particular rifle as it needs gunsmith attention. When cocked, the rifle will fire when the bolt handle is raised!!! Caution. It is believed that some 400,000 rifles were converted to the 6.5 X 52.3 Carcano cartridge. This one has a bore that grades fair but may clean better.
