Lovely Mannlicher-Schoenauer Model 1908 Carbine
Description:
Serial #14190, 8x56mm Mannlicher-Schoenauer, 19 3/4? barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This is a fabulous little carbine that retains 97-98% of the original rich, commercial blue finish that has faded slightly along the high edges and projections, and on the bearing surfaces of the bolt.
The straw color remains on the small parts and the original bright color case-hardening is still present on the lower wrist tang.
The pre-war Austrian proofs and factory markings are crisp and sharp, and the bolt latch has most of the original bright fire blue remains.
The full-length walnut stock has a rounded, continental cheek-piece and is in excellent condition with crisp original checkering and a few negligible handling marks in the original oil finish.
The rifle is equipped with double set triggers and grooved horn buttplate.
This is an excellent example of a desirable Mannlicher-Schoenauer sporting rifle, and would make a fantastic addition to any collection.
