Mauser Luger-Barreled 1920 Rework Broomhandle Pistol
Description: Serial #422656, 7.65mm (.30 Mauser), 4” barrel with an excellent, bright lined bore. This pistol was made by threading a Luger barrel onto the Mauser receiver (the join is so well done that the seam is invisible) and retains 95-97% of the original blue finish with some minor silvering along the projecting edges and surfaces with some mild fading and pinprick pitting on the right side of the magazine housing and some further fading along the grip straps. The bolt and action housing have an overall freckled gray patina, the safety and bolt stop have some of their original bright nitre blue remaining and there is both a small unobtrusive import mark on the underside of the barrel as well as a “1920” military stamp on the right side of the breech. At some point the barrel was sleeved to .30 Mauser, possibly during the barrel conversion or not long afterwards, and the 12 groove wooden grips are numbered to a different gun on the interior (but the number is only off by one digit; “646” instead of “656”) and are in fine shape with scattered minor handling marks and small surface blemishes on both panels but no cracks or chips. The mechanism has tight lock-up and the action functions flawlessly. This is a great example of a post-war Bolo and is in fine-near excellent condition overall.
