Merwin Hulbert
Description: Merwin Hulbert 2nd. Model Pocket Army Model. A six shot single action revolver in 44-40. Made between 1876 and 1880 with the serial number being 564. The finish was nickel with very little remaining and it is factory Engraved, and has birds head ivory grips. Both panels on the inside of the grips are marked 788. It has the scarce 7" barrel with a dark bore, pitted and some rifling. It has matching numbers on the barrel, back of the cylinder and on the grip frame. The barrel address is readable and complete. The left side of the frame reads "MERWIN HULBERT & Co. N.Y" and, " POCKET ARMY". The right side of the frame reads "Calibre Winchester 1873". A scene of an animal, birds and flowers are engraved on both sides of the frame. The gun has been cleaned with what looks like a light steel wool. The cylinder release pin looks to be a replacement. The gun indexes, cocks and locks up. $3350. SOLD Antique: Yes |
