Outstanding Near Mint Merwin & Hulbert .32 DA Revolver. Like New Mechanics.
Description: SOLD... Excellent and near mint antique Merwin & Hulbert DA .32 caliber. Here is another outstanding little pocket revolver. Merwin & Hulbert .32 caliber 5 shot double action. Has the standard 3" barrel. Caliber is .32 S&W black powder center fire. These revolvers were all MFG in the late 1870's to early 1880's.. Very unique in the way they open up with the twist open barrel system. S/N 8223 and all matching. Has the folding hammer spur with patent dates that will bring a small premium in this model.. This gun is near mint condition as you can see. The barrel retains 100% original nickel finish. The cylinder has 100% finish. The frame has 98% including the front and rear grip straps. The sliding loading gate shows a spot of flaked finish {see photo}. The left side of the frame and recoil shield shows some minor flaking {see photo}.. These very up close photos make it look much worse than it actually is and the gun looks much better in hand. It is very hard to take photos of these high condition nickel plated guns as the glare is almost impossible to avoid. The trigger guard even shows 99% nickel finish. Just a fantastic little revolver here. The hammer has very nice case colors showing and just starting to fade. The markings are all excellent. The mechanics are excellent as well. Has excellent “suction” when pulling the barrel and cylinder forward as suppose to do when these guns are like new. This gun is crisp and tight as a new gun in both SA and DA. Rock solid barrel to frame fit. The grips are excellent as well with NO cracks or chips and a perfect factory fit. Still showing all the very fine checkering with very fine luster. The screws and take down pins show no use or turning at all. The bore shows some roughness from firing black powder ammo as is common but still has strong rifling and shine. The chambers are excellent with no roughness. About all I can say on this one. Just a fantastic condition 135 plus year old revolver that shows VERY little use and would be very hard to improve on for the most demanding collector. The best one of this model I have ever offered for sale in 30 plus years in collecting and dealing. Would be the center piece of a collection of small frame pocket revolvers. I have it priced fairly and if it does not sell, then I would be most happy with it in my collection !!!! $18 insured shipping. Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. Please check out my other listings by clicking on “view all Toms guns” or just type in my name Tom Boyer in the search box to see all the items I have for sale. I may be able to discount some items for you that I have had for a while that are at the bottom of the listing category. This is very important for you to get a good deal on something. Thank you for looking as always. SOLD Antique: Yes |
