RARE CIVIL WAR COLT 1860 ARMY FLUTED CYLINDER, REASONABLY PRICED
Description:
Please visit global-firearmsc.om for more antique guns. Colt manufactured only 4000 of these fluted cylinder revolvers, all in the 0-8000 serial range. This particular gun is all correct, with a 4-screw frame designed for a shoulder stock, low serial number in the 4000 range(made 1861) Serial numbers are all matching including wedge. I cant see the serial on the cylinder, only patent date. Cylinder appears to have been lightly cleaned in the past. The gun retains pleasant overall appearance of plum patina with traces of original blue around the barrel and on top of the back strap. Action is tight, with correct indexing. Bore is near excellent. Forcing cone of the barrel has been slightly shaved, so there is a wider than usual gap between cylinder and barrel, however, action is very crisp with no issues. The revolver has interesting # marks on the trigger guard, barrel and grips, worth further research. This is one of the most desirable and scarce variation of Colts, many of these fluted cylinder Armies were shipped to the South right before Civil War. Certified funds, Visa/MC add 3%.
