Seller's Inventory #: AL3598
Rare U.S. Model 1840 Hall “Fish Tail” carbine. Rare gun and certainly in this condition. 85% of the original finish remains. These guns were brown lacquered and the breech was case colored. Neither one of these finishes are what one would consider to be durable, so it’s amazing this gun has the amount of finish it does! Wood is excellent, and the cartouche is still sharp and crisp on the left hand side near the action. Gun works perfectly, a very fine example! May be impossible to improve upon for this model of a Hall!
