Rare Winchester 1886 Short Rifle Takedown Letters Tang sight .33WCF
Description:
SN 137418, .33 WCF, 20" Barrel, bright very good bore.
This 1906 built rifle letters with 6 special features including 20" barrel, Beach front, Lyman rear, half mag, rifle butt and takedown.
Also mentioned in the letter is the caliber, round barrel, blank in rear slot, plain trigger, and the shipping date of July 23, 1906.
Rifle remains in very good original condition with about 70% barrel blue, 80% on the mag tube with several small dings and cap faded to brown.
Receiver retains 40% blue with lightly cleaned oxidation on sides leaving a few small areas of light pitting, mostly along the top edge on the left side.
The lever and hammer show traces of case color.
The tang has the correct and rare NI marked Lyman that was specifically designed for this model.
Wood has typical marks from use with a empty sling eye hole in the toe line.
This special order 1886 comes with a copy of the Cody letter indicating all features.
