S.A. Model 1933 Dress Dagger by Wilhelm Kober & Co.
Description: This dagger measures 13 3/4" overall with an 8 5/8" straight, double-edged blade. The blade has a lightly streaked bright gray patina with some small areas of freckling along the edges and the "Alles f'r Deutschland" motto is still crisp and sharp, retaining about 85% of some old added black tint within the letters. The etched maker's trademark on the reverse reads: "WILH. KOBER & CO./(centaur)/SUHL". The hilt fittings are slightly dulled with age and have a small "Th" Gau marking (Thuringia) on the reverse. The light brown wooden grip has scattered small handling marks and surface blemishes as well as a few small chips around the edges of the eagle. The scabbard has light freckling and surface scratches along its length but still retains most of the original brown anodized finish while the throat and tip have some minor splitting along the side screws. The tip has been flattened after being dropped some time ago and is outfitted with an "oLc" marked hanger spring clip. This is a very good SA dagger overall by a seldom encountered and desirable maker and would make a great addition to a collection. SOLD Manufacturer: German Model: Knife |
