Sharps New Model 1863 carbine with Maynard tape pellet primer, .52 cal.
S/N C93XX.
Percussion (straight) breech loader, 22” barrel. Has saddle-ring bar but
is missing saddle ring.
Small cartouche behind lower tang; appears to be an “X” in a box(?)
NRA antique condition Good-VG. Little or no bluing on barrel or case
hardening on breech. Little or no wear on mechanism, falling block drops
smoothly. Safety, lever lock, and barrel band spring are tight. All
metal stampings are clear and sharp.
Crack in buttstock behind wrist; minor crack in forearm. Bore is bright
with distinct lands and grooves but minor pitting. Rear sight is missing
slider. Last fired about 1963 using black powder; properly cleaned,
oiled, and stored since that time.
$3,995 plus $95 shipping and insurance. Certified funds or credit cards;
