Smith & Wesson Japanese Navy Contract Revolver
Description:
Smith & Wesson Japanese Navy Contract Revolver, .44 Russian, 7 inch round barrel with a very good to about excellent bore which is mostly bright . The frame and barrel are mostly a plum brown patina with traces of original blue in the protected areas; the hammer muted case patina, and there is good blue on the top latch.
There are overall tiny dings and handling marks throughout... The checkered Walnut grips are fair with overall dings and handling marks, they are un-numbered... Barrel-to-frame lockup is quite good and the gun times and locks up properly.
Barrel and barrel latch are numbered to the frame: serial number 9376, the cylinder is numbered "9279", and is commonly the result of switching during the cleaning process, this is typical of these Japanese contract guns. The right side of the frame has the Interarms Importer stamp... There is some light circumferential scratching around the screw holes, the lanyard loop is intact. $2450.
Overall, a very good example of the Smith & Wesson Japanese Naval Contract Model 3 with the acceptance stamp of the Anchor and Waves, stamped on the bottom of the frame (seen in the photo). Antique 1879 Shipment
