Second Model American
Description:
SMITH & WESSON, 2nd MODEL AMERICAN .44 S&W REVOLVER... The2nd Model American was an improved version of the 1st Model American. It was introduced in 1872, and manufactured until 1874. It was an immediate success, and found favor with many notable Frontiersmen.
A very interesting and charismatic looking 2nd Model American.. Serial Number 29232 is a very clean well preserved specimen with the standard 8 inch barrel, and a good bright bore, complete with a lanyard ring.
It has about 10% of the original blue finish, scattered throughout in the more protected areas, with the balance a soft brown-gray patina... All matching assembly numbers throughout. The screw heads are crisp and clean, as is the loading, unloading, and firing actions. The Walnut grips, an early replacement, are smooth and damage free. The Company's Barrel Address is Crisp, and legible.
This is a fine clean example of a very "Classic" looking Western Revolver over 142 years old. $3450.
