Smith & Wesson WWII M&P 1905 Canadian Revolver
Description:
SN 715132 is a Smith & Wesson M&P revolver that was sold to Canada in WWII.
In cal. .380 (.38S&W) with a
6" barrel and original grips.
This piece retains about 95% of its original blue and shows muted case color on the hammer and trigger.
The grip panels show minor usage and marks on the butt.
The bore rates bright very good to excellent.
This piece shows the S&W brush blue and was probably supplied between Dec. 1941 and April 1942 - see page #43 of "Canadian Military Handguns" by Clive Law.
As with many of the Canadian guns, they were not necessarily marked with either the .38/200 mark or military proofs.
We have noted over the years that revolvers as issued to the RCAF and the RCN were even less likely to be marked.
We imported this revolver from Canada many years ago and recently took it back on trade; so it shows our import mark on the underside barrel flat.
It comes with its original "C broad arrow / 1943" Canadian
dated holster; both the revolver and holster are in excellent plus condition. FFL or C&R
