U.S. 1905 R1A Bayonet Dated 1910 Infantry Unit Marked.
Description:
This bayonet is serial numbered "173812" on ricasso with 1910 date opposite.
This shows evidence of an arsenal rebuild with later large groove grips and dark grey parkerized blade.
Blade shows 70% finish.
Guard and pommel retain 70% blue fading brown in areas.
Pommel shows correct "A" marking near slot indicating use of improved catch hook.
Grip scales show a few small marks and fit well.
The second model (seamless) 1910 scabbard is stenciled "Co. G, 124th. INF" on back.
Leather tip is stamper "R.I.A. 1917" with the I and A quite weak.
Cover is loose on body.
