Very Fine Smith & Wesson New Model Number 3 SA Target 38-44 Nickel

Considered one of the finest single actions ever made and a go to gun for many of the most famous target shooters at the turn of the last century such as Ira Paine. This is a standard all original factory nickle target model with a 6 1/2" barrel, target front and adjustable rear sight. Nice clean strong bore. Actioin smooth as silk. Locks up like a safe. Near mint original grips fit perfect with no cracks or chips. Nice case colors still on hammer. Colors gone on trigger guard. The cylinder retains about 50-60% original nickel while the rest of the gun is a super strong 85% or better and what is not nickel blends so well as to look like a 95% gun. Of course, all of these guns are antique and can be shipped directly to you with no FFL needed. Only 1413 of these fine guns were ever made and they dominated the Bisley matches until the advent of smokeless powder.
