Virginia Kentucky rifle attributed to John Beeton. Very nice rifle that was converted to percussion from flintlock. Barrel is 39 1/2”. Beautiful patch box that is almost identical to the one pictured on page 106 of Gunsmiths & Allied Tradesmen of Virginia by James Whisker. Gun also has an unusual cheek piece that also resembles the gun found in Mr Whisker’s book. Four silver inlays are present while one inlay is missing from the underside of the stock between the trigger guard and ram rod pip holder. The book Gunsmiths & Allied Tradesmen of Virginia by James Whisker comes with this gun. Very well made gun and very good entry level authentic Kentucky rifle!
