PRICE REDUCED DRASTICLY! This is a ever popular Winchester 1886 factory deluxe model ( 108XXX) with fancy wood pistol grip and 'I' checkering. It still shows a good amount of case colors - about 60 or more% and has most all of the original blue finish and oil finish stocks - 95%. Fit is perfect with only minor handling marks. Bore is fine+ and the caliber is factually the most scarce of all the model 1886 calibers - and of course especially hard to find in the true deluxe version. The pictures although not the best ( poor light) - speak for themselves and this would be a fine addition to any advanced 86 collector who just can't fond a decent 86 deluxe in that elusive 40-70 For the discerning collector who would like to at least be able to show what the elusive cartridge looks like - it just so happens I have a couple of perfect condition original UMC period 40-70 rounds to go with the gun. This gorgeous rare piece at one time in its antique life must have had a receiver sight as there are two tiny 2.5 mm 'filler' screws on the upper left side of the receiver. BTW - If you are one of those super 'anal' hair splitters who would make a big deal out of such a small matter - don't even bother me. I can't stand dealing with petty people. I don't use the term 'RARE' when I just mean scarce. There were only 627 of these Winchesters ever produced - AND of those - less than 32 were deluxe pistol grips. that is for the ENTIRE WORLD - FOLKS! THAT IS RARE. The ONLY pistol grip like it available anywhere on planet Earth for sale - other than THIS ONE - belongs to Leroy Mertz - the undisputed 'godfather' of fine Winchesters. HOWEVER if you are interested in a truly nice example of a rare 117 year old Winchester such as this - at an attractive price - please give me a call and lets discuss it. 813-8861235 ( Fl.) I will consider some trades and will gladly do more pictures. As a bonus I will include free of charge, a somewhat pristine rare Winchester 1894 model reloading tool for the ultra rare 40-70- cal Winchester deluxe rifle I have listed here. If you can locate one in ANY kind of condition - I estimate the price would be $8 - 10 THOUSAND MORE IF YOU EVENFIND ONE!. Don't pass up the opportumity to own such a rare 1886 for this price. Thanks for looking.
