Webley & Scott Model 728 in 28GA Excellent Condition Cased
Description: I have for sale a very nice and rather rare Webley & Scott Model 728 in the great 28 gauge. These fine English Boxlocks were built in Birmingham and imported into this country by Abercrombie and Fitch of Beverley Hill, California between 1966 and 1968 and only 40 of them were imported into this country. All of these guns featured a straight stock, splinter forend, double triggers and beautiful case coloring. They all also had 25 inch barrels making for a very quick upland gun perfect for Grouse, Woodcock, and Quail. The bores on this gun both measure .550 exactly as marked and the right barrel has .008 of constriction and the left .024. Stock dimensions are 1 1/2 X 2 1/4 X 14 1/2 over an Old English pad. Weight of the gun is 5 pounds 6 ounces. Gun has very slight cast off at the toe and neutral at the heel so either a right or left hander could easily shoot this gun. Vacant brass oval in toe of stock. Gun is chambered for 2 3/4 inch shells and proofed at 3 1/4 tons per square inch. Condition of the gun is excellent with only a few light handling marks. Wood had nice fiddleback grain with straight grain flow through the wrist. Bluing and case coloring are excellent. Gun comes cased in original hard case with Webley label, cleaning rod, oil bottle, mops, and warranty card. British 28 gauge guns are few and far between. If you find one check length of pull and it will probably have a short length of pull because most were built for women and children. Here you have one with great dimensions, ready to take to the woods or fields. Price of the gun is $5900 plus $75 shipping to your FFL. Contact me with any questions you might have on this great little upland beauty. As always there is a three day non-firing inspection period on the gun with the buyer paying shipping charges if returned. SOLD |
