Winchester 1866 Saddle Ring carbine. Manufactured in 1877. Third model carbine. Barrel and tube are an even brown patina. Barrel address is clear. Brass frame shows rounded edges from ""Old West"" use. Forend is original and missing a 2"" chip on the right side at the front. Buttstock is a good looking replacement. Bore is surprisingly very good and bright. Action works perfectly. This gun originally was .44 Rimfire and is now converted to .44 Centerfire. These were popular carbines in the Old West and in Mexico!
