Winchester 1885 High Wall in 32-40 Made in 1887. Very interesting gun with George Schoyen barrel. Schoyen was a talented gunsmith and target shooter who made his own barrels and would put his barrels on different single shot rifles. The barrel appears to be the equivalent of number 4 Winchester barrel. The wood appears to be the original forearm, so this was probably a gun with a number 4 barrel that had a new barrel put in by Schoyen of the same dimensions. The butt stock is a pistol grip and appears original. Both the rear and front sight are replacements. Bore is excellent. Action is tight and this gun has a set trigger. Very good original browned finish on the barrel. Receiver has turned a silvery gray. The butt stock has been nicely refinished probably the time of the barrel conversion. Very nice Winchester 1885 with a classic gunsmith barrel added!
