Winchester 1890 .22 long Full restored
Description: SALE PENDING
I am thinning out my collection of Winchester rifles and am offering for sale my restored model 1890 take down. This particular rifle was manufactured in 1908 which makes it 107 years old! Caliber is 22 long, This rifle was restored a number of years ago to a very high quality, It has a straight grip and was restocked in an awesome figured Rosewood with a white spacer and straight butt plate. This is a matching serial numbers gun which is quite rare for these old "gallery" guns.
24" octagon barrel with buckhorn rear sight. LOP is 14”.This is a third generation model which had a stronger breech bolt which made a stronger and safer locking mechanism. All new high quality blueing. There are a very few light handling marks on the right side of the receiver but very minor in nature. I would rate the overall condition as 98+%.Pump action cycles smooth and tight.I have received a number of emails questioning the authenticity of the shotgun butt as compared to the typical cresent butt. In the book "The History of Winchester Firearms" by Dean K. Bookman it says most of the 1890's that went to shooting galleries WHERE furnished with shotgun butts. So I do believe this to be correct to this rifle. There are a few photographs in the book showing it with the shotgun butt. If anyone needs proof of that I can scan the photo and email it to you. I Will ship only to FFL holder. Shipping cost is $40.00 and I will only ship to the lower 48 states. 90 day layaway available.
Thanks for looking.
