Winchester 1895 Rifle with Special Features
Description:
S# 78497, in .30 Army (.30-40 Krag) has a 28 inch barrel and bright, excellent bore.
Manufactured in 1915 this rifle features a factory installed Lyman No 21 receiver sight, factory sling eyes, first type hammer and a mail order replacement barrel. Receiver and lever retain 60% blue, the barrel shows 70% with poor storage evident and is importer marked on bottom.
Forearm wears an amateur basket-weave checkering job and proudly sports 23 filed notches on right side with added finish and wear.
The buttstock shows similar wear and added finish with a repaired crack by bottom tang and a small chip by sling eye.
This is a great rifle for the classic hunter. Rear sight slot is empty. FFL or C&R
