Description:
Serial #156786, .33 Winchester, 23 1/2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore.
This is a 1919-made rifle that has an excellent quality re-applied blue finish throughout that has left the edges sharp and markings quite crisp and clear.
There is some mild silvering at the muzzle, as well as some of the high edges and bearing surfaces.
When the rifle was refinished, the barrel was shortened by about 1/2” at the muzzle and nicely crowned which gives the gun an attractive “short rifle” appearance, and a Lyman side-mount rear sight, blued to match the rest of the rifle (the original rear sight was removed and a slot blank added in its place).
The lightly figured walnut stock and forend have also been professionally refinished to match the rest of the rifle and are in excellent condition with only some negligible handling marks and surface blemishes present.
The hard rubber shotgun buttplate is excellent, but does exhibit some minor discoloration around the edges.
The barrel to frame lock-up is tight, although there is a bit of play in the forend itself, and the rifle rates fine-near excellent condition as refurbished.
