Winchester Model 1892 Caliber 25/ 20 (25 WCF) Lever Action Carbine
Description:
Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Carbine
Caliber: 25/ 20 (25 WCF)
Barrel: 20"
Note: Although we have no complete provenance on this carbine, it more than likely had its origins in South America and later found its way to the Northwest coast of Oregon in the hands of Native Americans. Given the stock embellishments and the presence of a snarling black panther, as well as the fact that Winchester had an office in Brazil and the '92 carbine was very popular there, it seems logical that we would lean towards this interpretation. The gun is mechanically sound with an excellent bore. It has been re-blued at some point. Manufactured in 1925, it has a matching period Lyman tang peep sight. The original ladder rear barrel mounted sight has been replaced at some point by more modern Marbles. Front sight is original. The stock shows one wrist repair.
